About this Event
Join us for the LIWM Branch AGM, along with networking, an update from the Landscape Institute, and a seminar discussing Landscape and BNG presented by Bradley Murphy Design (BMD).
BMD are a local team of landscape architects, urban designers and ecologists. This session will explore how Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) is influencing the design and delivery of development schemes across the UK. Drawing on live project experience, the talk will consider both the opportunities and constraints BNG presents, including how it can drive meaningful habitat creation and inform landscape-led design, as well as where it can create tensions around layout, viability and deliverability. The session will emphasise the importance of early and ongoing collaboration between ecologists and landscape architects to ensure BNG is embedded effectively within schemes, rather than treated as a compliance exercise.
The landscape institute will also give an update on LI achievements and their future vision. We hope to welcome all newly Chartered members to the Branch and the LI.
