Talk 1 — The Evolving AI Threat Landscape
Host: David Wurburton
Info: This talk explores how security practitioner sentiment toward AI is evolving, highlighting growing scepticism, shifting risk priorities, and the normalization of issues such as shadow AI and hallucinations. It explores emerging threat patterns (particularly agentic AI attacks, social engineering of language models, and vulnerabilities in AI frameworks) while framing these risks within both traditional cybersecurity concepts and AI-specific dynamics. Finally, it introduces approaches to measuring and mitigating AI risk, emphasizing the importance of layered defences, adversarial testing, and continuous evaluation as AI systems become more autonomous and integrated into critical workflows.
🕑: 06:00 PM - 06:30 PM
Talk 2 - Why AI Risk Is Harder to Measure and Why That Matters
Host: Mohammed Bahubaishi
Info: AI is moving fast, and so are the risks that come with it. One of the biggest challenges is that AI risk is not always easy to measure in the way we are used to. It is not just about technical vulnerabilities. It is also about trust, data leakage, shadow AI, decision making, and accountability. In this session, I’ll talk about why AI security feels different from traditional security, why that makes it harder to assess what really matters, and what organisations should be thinking about as AI adoption continues to grow.
