WINTER/SPRING 2026 SESSION : FEBRUARY 1 7- MARCH 26 (6 WEEKS)

INTRO TO MUSICAL THEATRE

Welcome to the world of musical theatre! This introductory course will give students the opportunity to work on their singing, acting, and dancing skills. Students will also get the chance to work on audition preparation and performance skills with their seasoned Teaching Artist who is also a practicing professional in the theater arts industry This is a fast paced and fun class that is meant to challenge students in individual, ensemble, and group skills. We work together to help prepare students for auditions in the real world and for future productions. Students will also learn theater history, theater etiquette, audition techniques, and performance techniques to help build students’ confidence in being able to perform in front of audiences. All of this will be taught in a fun and safe environment to allow students to be empowered to be themselves on and off stage.

This weekly class is designed for students ages 7 and up with no prior experience.

Intro to Musical Theatre is taught by LHYAC Teaching Artist, Matthew Noah (Mr. Matthew). All classes have an adult support staff assistant in addition to the lead Teaching Artist to help ensure the best experience possible for everyone.

Students will meet twice weekly at the Lincoln Heights Youth Arts Center, in Room 229, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm - 5:50 pm.
