About this Event
Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz OBE and Members will raise the Pride flag at East Ham Town Hall, followed by a light lunch and a talk with Abi Young on Queer Ecology.
Queer Ecology allows us to reimagine the ways in which we understand the natural world. It disrupts the heteronormativity that has been imposed on nature and celebrates the diversity of all living things. From giraffes to bugs, grasses to fungi, queerness can be found everywhere!
Abi Young (they/them) is an Environmental Educator with a passion for engaging people in the natural world and inspiring them to protect it. Their work brings queer ecology, increasing inclusion and access to nature, as well as inspiring climate action through outdoor learning.
