About this Event
Aim:
To bring professionals from a range of sectors and backgrounds together to discuss how we can create a best practice safeguarding response for missing adults, and in doing so, improve the response and aftercare that is offered to this group of people.
Target audience: Mental health sector; other relevant VCS agencies; relevant parts of the housing sector; relevant parts of the care sector – including those linked to cognitive illness; statutory safeguarding (council, NHS, and police).
Objectives:
1. To ensure the voice of those with *lived experience shapes everything we do.
2. Explore the underpinning causes of why adults go missing linked to the different demographics and protected characteristics of individuals.
3. To outline the reasons adults go missing locally.
4. Discuss what is best practice - how do we get there?
5. How can we all help to prevent adults from going missing?
6. Create some time for networking and relationship building.
7. Develop an action plan to address 1-6 and create local guidance, policy, and procedures.
