About this Event
Our gendered selves and bodies impact every facet of our living life, and in this, what role do they play when considering our mortality? This conversive, inclusive collaboration birthed across the span of two years, through meetings at various charming Vancouver cafés, where a shared curiosity about death and dying found alignment with friendship, queer theory and intersectional feminisms.
Please join us for a conversation exploring three new questions we’ve come up with specifically relating to gender and death alongside an original Death Conversation Game facilitated session. This is a circular space where, through the question prompts, we all have the opportunity to share - and/or listen - in a space co-created for ease and accessible comfort.
We welcome you to join if you are new or returning to conversations on any of these subjects!
“When I was diagnosed with cancer, my relationship to my gender changed, but in ways that were so outwardly subtle I’m the only one who’s noticed. I’ve spent a large majority of this year actively getting to know the me who is eternal… Because of this, where I once felt genderful, I now feel something closer to genderless, and it’s a wildly expansive feeling. Each time I’m present with it, I feel eternal, cherished, and held to the warm chest of infinity.”
- Renown queer poet Andrea Gibson (1975-July 14th 2025)
