ABOUT THE EVENT:
This Let's Roll MPS is in partnership with Sullivan Steam Magnet and Anishinabe Academy.
The Let’s Roll MPS is the name of our free, slow-paced group bicycle rides that celebrate bicycle efforts in Minneapolis Public Schools, the beauty of Minneapolis, and the joy in our connections to each other. These rides invite the whole community to experience our mission in Culinary & Wellness Services – and to witness firsthand our commitment to nurturing ALL children through access to quality food and active living. MPS student bicycle groups are the stars of this free event, and all are invited—students, families, staff, and community.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
To participate, gather on your bicycle by 3:00 PM at Sullivan and Anishinabe playground (3100 East 28th Street Minneapolis). Find the welcome table and sign the event waiver. Children must be accompanied by a caregiver/guardian or by staff who has signed permission slips for the group.
Together we will bike a lovely loop on the streets and trails near these schools. We have mapped out a fairly flat and shortish route that can be navigated by a variety of abilities and bicycles. The ride will end around back at Sullivan/Anishinabe where we will celebrate with an MPS meal for the kids and True Food samplings for all to try.
PLEASE RIDE READY:
Bring your own bike. Wear a helmet, pump your tires, and check your brakes, and know basic bike safety principles such as be predictable, be aware, and follow the law.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
This event is (light) rain or shine. We do not ride in lightning. Stay tuned here for weather updates.
