About this Event
Let There Be Light! Flash on Film: What works, what won’t, and how to achieve repeatable results.
We will walk participants through different use cases for three types of on-camera flashes (the Keks manual type flash, a traditional thyristor type “auto” flash, and built-in flashes like canon rebel/point and shoots). Will review the advantages and disadvantages of each type and suggest techniques for achieving sharp, well-exposed images with any of them in a variety of scenarios. Will also discuss situations in which flash is a non-obvious but incredibly useful tool (daylight fill for all types of photography, intentional slow sync effect for event/nightlife, etc). Participants should bring their own camera(s) and flashes to the extent that they have them, and we will bring as many spares as we can.
TICKET INFO: If you have a ticket to the Film Forever Kick Off Day, you’ll receive discount codes for this and all other weekend programs!
