About this Event
Istanbul Center invites you to join our Cooking Class & Luncheon. It will be on Saturday April 11 from 11am to 1pm. Lentil balls, known as Mercimek Köftesi, are a Turkish favorite made by mixing boiled red lentils with fine bulgur wheat. The dry bulgur absorbs the lentil moisture to create a soft, protein-rich dough seasoned with sautéed onions, tomato paste, cumin, and fresh parsley.
Instead of being baked or fried, they are hand-molded and served at room temperature, traditionally wrapped in a crisp lettuce leaf with a squeeze of fresh lemon for a bright, crunchy contrast.
