About this Event

🎬 Step Into the World of Filmmaking

Have you ever wondered how filmmakers turn ideas into powerful stories on screen?

This hands-on beginner filmmaking workshop will introduce you to the core fundamentals of visual storytelling, cinematography, and the filmmaking process used on professional film sets.

Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker, storyteller, actor, or content creator, this workshop will give you practical tools and real-world techniques you can start using right away.

✨ No experience required — beginners welcome!

🎥 Led by an Industry Professional

This workshop is taught by Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Britt McTammany, who brings years of professional film and television experience to the classroom.

Britt will guide participants through the creative and technical process filmmakers use to bring stories to life.

🎬 What You'll Learn

During this workshop you'll explore:

• How filmmakers craft compelling stories with limited resources
• Camera techniques, lighting, and sound fundamentals
• Pre-production planning (storyboarding, shot planning, casting)
• Directing actors for natural performances
• Post-production basics including editing, sound design, and color correction

You’ll leave with a clear understanding of the filmmaking process from idea to screen.

🎥 Hands-On Experience

This workshop is interactive — not just lecture.

Participants will:

• Watch real filmmaking techniques demonstrated
• Film a short scene together
• Explore camera placement and lighting choices
• See how directing decisions shape the final story

You'll gain insight into how a real film set works and how filmmakers collaborate to create powerful visual stories.
