Lenten Retreat at St. James: The Woman at the Well
This Lent, we invite you to come together as the St. James faith community for a meaningful day of prayer, reflection, and renewal. Our retreat theme, *The Woman at the Well*, centers on the powerful Gospel encounter where Jesus meets a woman in her thirst, her questions, and her story — and offers her living water.
This retreat is a beautiful opportunity to pause during this sacred season, reflect on where Christ meets us in our own lives, and grow together as a parish community. Whether you are feeling spiritually refreshed or spiritually thirsty, this day is for you.
We are honored to welcome **Christina R. Zaker**, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry at Chicago Theological Union, as our retreat leader. Christina has served at CTU since 2014 and is a practical theologian dedicated to forming reflective practitioners in ministry. Her background includes campus ministry, parish ministry, and serving as Executive Director of Amate House for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
She is the author of *Surprised by God: Teaching Reflection through the Parables*, a book that explores how parables can shape theological reflection and intersect with justice and everyday life. Christina also teaches in the Spirituality and Pastoral Ministry Department, where her research focuses on Family Spirituality and how faith evolves through the stages of family life. A frequent speaker and retreat director, she brings both depth and warmth to her ministry. Christina and her husband, Christopher, are the parents of four children.
