About this Event
Join Treats. and Lore Leimert Park for an evening exploring our beloved neighborhood and learning from one of LA's brightest creative minds - Samone Kidane, co-founder of Black Image Center!
We'll:
- Meet in-store around 6PM to reflect on how you want to see and be seen.
- Get your mini portrait taken with our iconic bookshelves / stair banisters as a backdrop.
- Launch from Lore around 6:45PM to begin our photo walk around Degnan, stopping at key points to cover things like composition, color, texture, lighting and *vibe*.
- Return to the store around 8PM for a little editing lesson over wine and chats with new friends
- Share out a bit about the experience and show the group our favorite edited finished product!
Featuring:
Samone Kidane , a self-taught visual artist who uses film and digital formats to explore intersectional identities, love and togetherness. She is also the co-founder of Black Image Center, a non-profit organization that aims to make photo and image making more accessible for young black creatives.
Alison Griffin , a creative, community facilitator, recovering perfectionist and the Founder & Program Director of Treats. Inspired by her own recovery after 10+ years as a TV and marketing producer, Alison is building structure around the exploration, curation and practice of our own unique self-care routines in a quest to prevent burnout.
