About this Event
The discussion will focus on their journey as creatives and how the city of Chicago has shaped their perspective as artists. Learn more about the people behind the lens and about some of their recent work where they shared what the city of Chicago meant to them through a series of work captured leading up to the opening of Leica Store Chicago.
Nolis Anderson is a Chicago native whose work is shaped by an early interest in science and art. After earning a Doctor of Ph*rm*cy degree from Chicago State University and spending two years in medicine, he stepped away to pursue photography full time. Now over a decade later, his practice reflects that analytical foundation by balancing careful observation with human connection.
I grew up in Chicago, and exploring the city became central to who I am. From late night train rides to the Loop for skate sessions, to commuting to school. Chicago was always more than a backdrop, it was a playground. For the past nine years, this city has been the heart of my photography. The same spirit of exploration I had as a kid on a skateboard is still alive and well, now carried through a camera.
Steven Schultz is a commercial photographer and filmmaker who approaches every project with the same documentary-minded curiosity he's carried since childhood. That instinct has taken him around the world, directing and producing two feature-length films, a body of short films, and photo campaigns for global brands.
