About this Event
Celebrate with an evening reception as we officially open our doors and welcome the creative community to experience Leica in a new light.
The evening will feature a special gallery exhibition, Life Unposed, by renowned photographer Craig Semetko, whose work captures iconic moments with a distinctive visual voice.
About the Artist
Craig Semetko (born 1961) is an American photographer who was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan. After graduating from Northwestern University, he began his career as a professional comedy writer and performer before later discovering photography as another means of storytelling.
His background in comedy has given him a highly developed sense of the absurd and ironic, resulting in a distinctive thread of humor throughout his work. Elliott Erwitt has described him as “the essential photographer, the one who sees what others could not have seen.”
Inspired by humor and irony that transcend cultural boundaries, Semetko travels the world in search of such moments. He has taught photography workshops in sixteen countries across four continents, and his work is held in private collections throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
