📚 Lecture: "Podcasts and Politicians: The New Political Stage"
🎤 Speaker: Prof. Lindsey Cormack
Join us for an engaging evening with Professor Lindsey Cormack as she explores the evolving landscape of political discourse through the lens of podcasting. In recent years, politicians have increasingly embraced podcasts as a platform to build their personal media empires and connect with constituents.
In this thought-provoking discussion, Prof. Cormack will examine who is participating in this trend, the topics being covered, and what implications this surge in political podcasting has for our democracy and public conversations. As traditional media continues to transform, understanding the role of podcasts in shaping political narratives becomes crucial.
Prof. Lindsey Cormack is an associate professor of Political Science and the Director of the Diplomacy Lab at Stevens Institute of Technology. She is the author of two insightful books, including "How to Raise a Citizen (And Why it’s Up to You to Do It)" and "Congress and U.S. Veterans: From the GI Bill to the VA Crisis." Additionally, she created and maintains the digital database of all official Congress-to-constituent e-newsletters at www.dcinbox.com.
