🧠Lecture: "Game Theory for Everyday Negotiations"
🎤 Speaker: Professor Dhruv Khurana
Game Theory for Everyday Negotiations is your pint‑glass playbook for getting more of what you want without being a jerk or a doormat. We’ll turn daily standoffs—where to meet, who cleans, how much to tip, what salary to accept—into simple games you can actually solve, from who to approach in a bar to whether you should order that next drink.
You’ll see how dating, job offers, and family drama are really signaling and screening games, and learn to anchor without cringing, make credible threats, and use commitment devices to play the long game. You’ll leave with ultra‑relatable micro‑scenarios, a short cheat sheet, and a quick lens for keeping your negotiations effective and ethical, not manipulative.
Dhruv Khurana is a micro-economist and assistant professor of health economics at UCLA. His work focuses on health disparities and the role of data and policy in determining who gets care and who is left out. His research has been recognized and endorsed by the New England Journal of Medicine and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
