🧠Lecture: "An Introduction to Human Memory"
🎤 Speaker: Dr. Pascal Wallisch, PhD
Join us for a fascinating evening as Dr. Pascal Wallisch guides us through the mysterious world of human memory. Together, we’ll explore how memory is organized in the brain, why we have memory in the first place, and what actually happens when we remember—or forget.
During this interactive lecture, we will even induce false memories to reveal just how flexible and unreliable our recollections can be, and unpack the science behind déjà vu: why it feels so uncanny, and what it tells us about the brain’s inner workings. You’ll walk away with practical insights into how memory works and how you can remember better in everyday life.
Pascal Wallisch is a Clinical Professor of Data Science, Psychology, and Neuroscience at NYU Arts & Science, and the most decorated educator at NYU. He has received a Distinguished Teaching Award, two Golden Dozen Awards, a TeachTech Award, and five Teaching Innovation Awards.
