About this Event
New to leatherwork? This introductory workshop is the perfect place to start. Through the process of making your own belt from scratch, you will be guided through the fundamental skills of leathercraft, basic cutting, hand-stitching, finishing, and fastening, developing a feel for the material and a set of techniques you can carry forward into future making. Guided by our team, you’ll gain confidence using traditional tools while creating a belt from scratch.
Alongside practical skills, the session explores leather as a historic and contemporary craft material - how it behaves, how it ages, and how to work with it thoughtfully and sustainably.
Perfect for anyone interested in learning a new skill in a supportive, hands-on environment. All materials provided. No prior experience needed.
