About this Event
One conversation can change a life. Are you ready to listen?
Being listened to – really listened to – has a profound effect on how you feel. It can lift the load when you’re struggling, clear the fog of distress, and – in the most critical moments – it can be life changing.
We often want to help those we care about, but we hold back because we’re afraid of saying the wrong thing. Through the Premier League’s ‘Together Against Suicide’ campaign, Brighton & Hove Albion FC has partnered with Brighton, Hove and District Samaritans to introduce you to the key tools their volunteers use to support people in emotional crisis.
Why Your Place Matters
This workshop is fully sponsored by Brighton & Hove Albion. While there is no cost to you, dedicated places and 4 expert Samaritans trainers have been reserved for every workshop. By pledging to come, you are building a safer, more supportive community for Albion fans and for your community beyond football.
What you gain in just two hours:
- A New Perspective: Build the recognition that suicide is not inevitable and that your actions can make a difference.
- The Samaritans Toolkit: Learn about listening techniques used to support people in profound distress.
- The Confidence to Act: Build confidence to spot the signs that someone is struggling and how to follow up.
What you need to know
This is a focused, face-to-face session designed for maximum impact. To respect the trainers and fellow participants, we ask for the following commitments:
