About this Event

This workshop is your chance to learn the performance techniques that make a puppet feel alive on camera. The precise skills, tricks, and techniques that bring a character to life on the screen.

Led by Michael Schupbach (Sesame Street, Bear in the Big Blue House, Avenue Q, Ms. Rachel), a creature designer, Muppet Creature Shop Alum, and puppetry coach, this hands-on session uses playful, practical exercises used by the professionals in television and film puppetry.

You will learn how to:

  • Find your puppet’s eye focus
  • Nail lip-sync and voice so a character feels authentic
  • Move and share space onscreen
  • And communicate warmth, humor, through your character(s)

This is a low-stakes, supportive space to explore something you may have wanted to try for a long time. No pressure, no performing for an audience. Just curiosity, guidance, and room to learn.

  • No experience needed
  • Wear clothes you can move in and dont mind getting some puppet fur on
  • Puppets provided (or bring your own)
  • Ages 18+

Group size is intentionally small (minimum 5, maximum 15) to ensure everyone receives personal guidance. Reserve your spot now!
