About this Event

Learn & Connect: Why Most Entrepreneurs Don’t Know What They’re Doing

“Entrepreneurship is risky mainly because so few of the so-called entrepreneurs know what they are doing,” wrote Peter Drucker in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (1985). Today, access to knowledge is everywhere: books, podcasts, accelerators, and AI tools, yet only a small fraction of startups ever become scaleups. Why?

Join Professor Joe Haslam of IE Business School, a six-time co-founder and leading researcher on startup and SME growth, as he shares 40 evidence-based reasons why most entrepreneurs struggle and what successful founders do differently. Because the entrepreneurial mindset is not just for founders, it’s a practical way to approach problems, spot opportunities, and create value in any industry and in everyday life. This session is designed for entrepreneurs, professionals, students, and anyone curious about entrepreneurial mindset, innovation and growth. The masterclass will be followed by an interactive discussion and a dedicated opportunity to connect and network, allowing participants to exchange ideas, perspectives, and experiences.
