Kwame Osagyefo (Gaylon Logan Jr.), Village-Connect
Kwame, one of the co-authors of the book "Leading with Self Awareness", is the founder and CEO of Village-Connect. With over 30 years of experience, he is a thought leader, consultant, workshop facilitator, Master CBTC coach, author, and motivational speaker focusing on fatherhood, youth, and family success.
Village-Connect (VC) is an Alameda County-based nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to build the capacity of people to become more self-aware and self-directed resulting in sustainable positive transformation for all.
Scott Shute, Changing Work
Scott, co-founder of Changing Work, has journeyed from America’s heartland to the hiking trails of Nepal, to the boardrooms of major tech companies across the U.S., Japan, and the U.K. Wherever he’s travelled, he has discovered more about what tears people apart, and what brings them together to create the extraordinary. As Vice President of Global Customer Operations at LinkedIn, the world’s largest online business network, he led a global team of 1,000 customer-service employees supporting 700 million network members around the world. Formerly, as Chief Mindfulness and Compassion Officer at LinkedIn, he implemented his vision of changing work from the inside out, by building industry-leading mindfulness programs and operationalizing compassion.
Changing Work is an organization dedicated to transforming workplace culture and practices to promote well-being, inclusivity, and sustainable productivity. They focus on helping organizations navigate the complexities of modern work environments by providing research-based insights, innovative tools, and training programs. Their mission is to create healthier workspaces that prioritize employee engagement and mental health, ultimately fostering a more resilient workforce. Through collaboration with businesses, Changing Work aims to shift mindsets and practices, leading to positive organizational change and improved employee experiences.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Simma Lieberman
Simma Lieberman is a recognized thought leader in the field of DEI. She has written three books and numerous articles on the topic, and has been featured in various media outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, Fast Company, The Economist, Forbes, Black MBA, Human Resource Executive, CNN, and NPR. She is the author of three books on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and one on resilience.
Simma brings people together across differences to develop strong working relationships and find new ways to collaborate. For over four years, Simma has been the host of the podcast “Everyday Conversations on Race for Everyday People” (www.raceconvo.com). Her show brings people together across race to have real conversations to eliminate fear of differences, stop hate and spread love.
