Leading for Inclusion - a place for every child


School leaders, governors and trustees play a crucial role in ensuring their schools are inclusive in all that they do. The responsibility to champion every member of the school community is greater than ever.

Cheshire West Governance Association is delighted that the following speakers will form part of the line-up at their conference on Friday 5th June 2026 at Chester Racecourse.

  • ; Sarah is an experienced educational leader, consultant, and author with over two decades of expertise in emotional well-being, behaviour, and systems change in education. With a career spanning mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), Alternative Provision (AP), and psychiatric in-patient services, Sarah has developed a deep understanding of how to create inclusive, nurturing environments where all children can thrive.
  • Dr Elaine Mawson; Elaine is a Senior His Majesty’s Inspector with an extensive background in school leadership and inspection. Elaine has worked across a wide range of educational settings, including primary, secondary comprehensive, grammar and special schools. She holds the NPQH, an MBA, and a Doctorate in Educational Research, with expertise in leadership, curriculum, safeguarding, and professional development.
  • Victoria Burnside; Victoria is a Senior His Majesty’s Inspector with an extensive background in school leadership and inspection. She holds a Master’s degree in education and has completed the national award for special educational needs co-ordination. Prior to joining Ofsted, Victoria was a headteacher.
  • ; Jane is the Early Engagement, Intervention and Inclusion Service (EEIIS) Senior Manager at Cheshire West and Chester Council
