About this Event
Join Lavender Lens and The Bakery on December 10th at the Supermarket for a screening of an iconic queer flick. This Month's film will be Cheryl Dunye’s The Watermelon Woman.
About the film:
The Watermelon Woman is a 1996 American film written, directed, and edited by Cheryl Dunye. The first feature film directed by a black lesbian, it stars Dunye as Cheryl, a young black lesbian working a day job in a video store while trying to make a film about a black actress from the 1930s credited as the “watermelon woman.”
