THIS IS RADIO SILENCE
This Is Radio Silence (TIRS) are post-punk/electro/industrial/shoegaze band from the south-east of England, formed in 2006 by Ben McLees after the split of Wasp Factory Recordings-signed Earth Loop Recall.
TIRS has undergone several line-up changes since its formation, but in recent years has been represented by the core trio of McLees (vocals, guitar), Geoff Courts (bass & guitar, 2010-present) and Hunter Barr (keys, 2012-present).
Renowned for their intense & loud live shows, TIRS have supported groups such as The Chameleons, The Young Gods, Empathy Test, Bootblacks and Ashbury Heights in the UK.
The band grew to a quartet in November 2024 with the addition of guitarist Julian Perris and are currently working on the follow-up to 2023’s self-titled double album (regarded as ‘the band’s definitive statement’- Compulsion Online).
