Laurel Halo released her latest album “Atlas” on her newly founded label Awe in September 2023. Unlike her previous releases and works, the album is a suite of orchestral ambient jazz collages composed on piano. In a floating, transparent, yet tactile and dramatic universe, the record is a beautiful weaving of electronic elements with performances from Coby Sey, cellist Lucy Railton, violinist James Underwood, and experimental saxophonist Bendik Giske. Halo began the process for “Atlas” back in 2020, when the pandemic provided an opportunity to revive her childhood love for the piano. This October, look forward to hearing Laurel Halo perform her new album live, as she fills Hellig Kors Church with soothing tones, accompanied by cello.
