Join us to celebrate the release of 'In the Great Quiet,' the latest from Oklahoma author Laura Vogt. She will be joined in conversation by Meaghan Hunt, a local librarian. About 'In the Great Quiet':
One afternoon in 1893, a cannon booms and the Oklahoma Land Rush begins. Amid the crowd is Minnie, determined to create a life for herself. Guarding her solitude, she distances herself from her fellow homesteaders and finds peace alone under the starry skies. But this is outlaw country, and she soon has the blood of two gunfighters on her hands. After an outlaw named Stot discovers her secrets, they form an unlikely friendship. With each passing season, Minnie’s past threatens the future she has risked everything to build. She raced into the Wild West alone, but her grandest adventure on the frontier will be to love a cowboy.
