🚀 Calling all young founders & small biz owners in Renfrewshire!
We’re back for another exciting Meet the Funder Day at Launch It Paisley Start-Up Street this April, still with the aim of equipping local entrepreneurs with the knowledge, insight and practical tips needed to secure funding from a range of sources and organisations.
This time around, we’re sitting down with Conor Cross, Philanthropy Manager, representing Foundation Scotland and the SWEF fund.
SWEF provides grant funding for young people aged 18-30 to start or grow their business when banks or family aren't an option.
This interactive information session will cover:
- The SWEF application process
- Hints & tips of a good application
- The key do’s and don’ts when applying
- Other insider tips to strengthen your application
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions directly to the funder during a dedicated Q&A at the end of the session.
This isn’t just any event; it’s all about empowering the next generation of founders. We know that navigating funding can feel overwhelming, confusing, and out of reach. That’s why we’re creating opportunities like this: to put you face-to-face with funders, show you exactly what they’re looking for, and give you the confidence to take that next step!
You’ll also have the chance to connect with other young people on the same entrepreneurial journey; sharing ideas, building networks and learning together.

SWEF is a grant-making organisation that supports young people from less advantaged backgrounds to start and grow their own businesses.
Through their network of Community Foundation partners across the UK, they provide grants to help the next generation of entrepreneurs turn their ideas into sustainable livelihoods.
