Latin Jam Salsa Team Placement & Training – San Francisco
Placement & Open Enrollment
New members are welcome to attend one open enrollment session free of charge. This session is for placement purposes—so the instructor can help you join the team that best matches your current skill level. Team training starts in February, with sessions on Monday or Wednesday nights.
What is the Latin Jam Team?
Latin Jam offers salsa teams for all levels, helping you train and get better at social dancing with style and confidence. Our program blends Afro-Cuban movement, LA (linear) style, and breaks down intricate footwork step by step. Every level gets a showpiece, so you’ll perform no matter where you are in your dance journey!
We offer two team levels: Beginner–Intermediate and Intermediate–Advanced.Beginners and those building their foundation will join our Salsa On 1 Team, focusing on timing, technique, and musicality.
For more experienced dancers, our Salsa On 2 Team dives into New York style (inspired by Eddie Torres), with an emphasis on intricate partner work and spins, plus Afro-Cuban, rumba, and son timing for deeper musicality.
For advanced dancers, we have a dynamic, faster-paced Salsa On 1 showpiece that blends salsa afro, salsa linear, and salsa caleña from Colombia. This special choreography is reserved for dancers who graduate from levels 1 and 2, and we can’t wait to share it with you as you progress!
You’ll grow as an individual and as a partner, mastering your role as a leader or follower. Our team training is fun, supportive, and community-driven, so you can progress with fellow dancers who are passionate, respectful, and care about the dance family.
How It Works & Pricing
- Weekly Training: 1 hour per week, minimum of 3 month commitment.
- Monthly Dues: $90/month for core team training.
- The weekly team training is designed to be enough for most dancers at their level. Extra training is available if you want to go further—no pressure, just opportunity. We keep the commitment manageable so you can balance dance with life and enjoy sustainable progress.
