Through stories set between Puerto Rico and the United States, these tales explore femicide, abuse, migrant loneliness, racism, and the ways in which women resist, survive, and reinvent themselves.
With powerful prose and an imagination that spans the intimate, the political, and the fantastic, the author constructs a universe where each story reveals a different wound—and also a shared strength: that of women who refuse to remain silent victims.

Anjanette Delgado (Santurce, Puerto Rico) escribe sobre sexilio, desarraigo y justicia social. Ganadora de un premio Emmy por su periodismo de interés humano, es autora de La píldora del mal amor (Atria, 2009), La clarividente de la Calle Ocho (Suma, 2014), El
sexilio (La Criba, 2024) y Cómo querer a un cubano (Suburbano, 2025). Editó la antología Home in Florida: Latinx Writers and the Literature of Uprootedness (University of Florida Press, 2021), la primera en recoger las voces latinas en ese estado y Medalla de Oro por ficción colectiva en los Latino International Book Awards 2022. exilio (La Criba, 2024), and Cómo querer a un cubano (Suburbano, 2025). She edited the anthology Home in Florida: Latin Writers and the Literature of Uprootedness (University of
Florida Press, 2021), the first to bring together Latino voices in that state, and recipient of the Gold Medal for Collective Fiction at the 2022 Latino International Book Awards.
