About The Book
In the duology, Manuela Azul is an undocumented immigrant, crammed into a small Miami apartment with her mother, hiding from ICE and from her father's Argentine crime family. When disaster shatters her carefully constructed world, she follows the only clue she has about her past—a mysterious emblem—into a secret realm of witches and werewolves, cursed cities, and illegal magic rooted in real Argentine folklore. In this hidden world, she discovers that it's not just her U.S. residency that is illegal. It's her entire existence. Steeped in Argentine folklore and written partly in Spanglish, WOLVES OF NO WORLD is the rare fantasy that earned both starred reviews from Publishers Weekly and Booklist and is dedicated to "all our children caught in the crosshairs of nationalism."
