Language That Sees Us
A Workshop on Pronouns & People
Words matter. The way we speak about one another can create belonging — or cause harm.
Join us for a thoughtful and welcoming workshop exploring why pronouns matter and how using them well can help create communities where everyone is known, respected, and loved.
Grounded in faith, compassion, and curiosity, this workshop will explore how something as simple as language can reflect God’s justice and love in everyday life. As the curriculum reminds us, honoring someone’s pronouns is one way of saying: “I see you. I respect you. You belong.”
Together we will explore:
• What pronouns are and how they work
• Why pronouns matter for LGBTQ+ people and allies
• The connection between language, dignity, and faith
• What to do when we make mistakes (because we all do!)
• Simple ways to practice hospitality through language
This is a learning space, not a test. Questions are welcome. Curiosity is encouraged. Grace is assumed.
Whether you’re new to this conversation or want to deepen your understanding, this workshop will help us practice what it means to be a community where everyone is seen, known, and called by name.
✨ All are welcome.
