Alberta’s glaciers are among the most dramatic and least understood landscapes in North America—vast, frozen rivers of ice that shape ecosystems, define watersheds, and tell a powerful story of time, climate, and resilience. Presenting "Anitya Nila", landscape and astrophotographer Chandresh (C.K.) Kedhambadi takes audiences deep into the heart of Alberta’s impermanent wild blue glaciers, revealing their raw beauty through technically demanding photography utilizing a Sony camera and Sony GM lenses.
This presentation explores the artistic and technical challenges of photographing glaciers in extreme cold, unpredictable weather, and remote terrain. From navigating frigid temperatures and rapidly changing light to composing images that balance scale, texture, and emotion, Chandresh shares the practical realities behind creating compelling glacier imagery. The session also highlights how modern SONY camera systems—renowned for dynamic range, low-light performance, and reliability—enable photographers to push creative boundaries in some of Canada’s harshest environments.

About Chandresh Kedhambadi:
Chandresh Kedhambadi (C.K.) is an award-winning landscape and astrophotographer based in the Canadian Rockies, best known for capturing the Northern Lights, the Milky Way, and the frozen wilderness of Canada.
An artist driven by exploration and education, his work blends artistic vision with scientific storytelling, often incorporating the human element to convey scale and connection. His photograph “YATRA” was a runner-up in Canadian Geographic’s 2023 Photo of the Year.
Chandresh is a NASA Aurorasaurus citizen scientist - he helps the scientific community investigate mysterious phenomena in the night sky through his footage and photographs, a Sony Alpha Universe contributor, a f-stop gear ambassador, and a featured presenter at international photography and aurora conferences.
