About this Event
Join us on May 2 for the Labocine Spring Party at the Science New Wave Lab! Come celebrate the season with wine, empanadas, and a night of film, science, and shared curiosity. We’ll unveil our latest curated programs, announce open calls, and give you a sneak peek into our upcoming festival.
This special evening also marks the official kick-off of Symbiosis, where we’ll introduce the six scientist-filmmaker pairs embarking on a two-week creative journey.
Six NYC-based filmmakers are paired with Simons Foundation scientists to create original short films exploring bold science stories. Over two weeks in May, these collaborations will shape unique visions of science cinema, culminating in a premiere in the city. Made possible by the Simons Foundation, Symbiosis brings research and storytelling together in vibrant new ways.
The night will also feature film/science installations and our signature microscopy stations—perfect for recording your Spring treasures.
Expect inspiration, experimentation, a room/lab full of scientists, artists and hybrids and lots of good vibes. All are welcome!
