The CUNY Haitian Studies Institute is be hosting a conference on the 1825 Indemnity imposed on Haiti by France and its lasting economic, political, and social consequences. This conference seeks to provide a platform for critical discussions on the indemnity’s impact on Haiti, France, the United States, and the Caribbean.
