ABOUT THE PRESENTATION:
Jacqueline Stewart, the host of TCM’s Silent Sunday Nights and “The Academy Museum Podcast”, joins LA Times Film Critic Amy Nicholson for a morning of conversation about classic cinema and Stewart’s journey from film archivist and preservation advocate to host.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
JACQUELINE STEWART: Jacqueline Stewart is the host of TCM’s Silent Sunday Nights and “The Academy Museum Podcast”. She is also a professor in the Department of Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago. Stewart served as Director and President of the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles from 2022 to 2024. Stewart is a passionate film archivist and advocate for film preservation.
Stewart is the author of the award-winning book Migrating to the Movies: Cinema and Black Urban Modernity, a study of African Americans and silent cinema. She is coeditor of L.A. Rebellion: Creating a New Black Cinema, a landmark study of the first generation of film school trained Black filmmakers out of UCLA.
AMY NICHOLSON: Amy Nicholson is the Film Critic of the Los Angeles Times. She is a current on-air voice at LAist and KCRW, and a member of the Los Angeles Film Critics Assn. and the National Society of Film Critics. Her book Tom Cruise: Anatomy of an Actor was printed by Cahiers du Cinema/Phaidon Press, and her second, Extra Girls, will be published by Simon & Schuster. Nicholson also co-hosts the movie podcast Unspooled with previous LABC presenter Paul Scheer.
ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.

Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 AM sharp! Doors close at 7:15 AM. Your admission includes a buffet breakfast, enjoyment of our 100-year-old club traditions, plus a special presentation from our Speaker of the Week!
