Join us for an afternoon of poetry celebrating the launch of two poetry collections: About to Disappear by Robbi Nester and The Exhaust of Dreams Adulterated by Jane Rosenberg LaForge. The poets will read from their new collections in The Wanda Coleman Theater followed by a reception and book signing.

About the authors
Robbi Nester is the author of 5 books of poetry and editor of 3 anthologies. Her forthcoming collection and 4th collection is About to Disappear (Shanti Arts, 2025), an ekphrastic poetry collection, published in October, 2025. A retired college educator, she currently hosts and curates two virtual poetry series, Verse Virtual Monthly Poetry Series and Open Mic and Words with You, part of the Poetry Salon Online. Jane Rosenberg LaForge was born, raised, and educated in Los Angeles, and studied prose and poetry in the Kate Braverman workshops of the early 1990s. She is the author of a memoir, two novels, four full-length collections of poetry, and four chapbooks of poetry. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, the story South Million Writers Award, the Best of the Net, and the Best of the Small Fictions. Her fifth full-length collection is The Exhaust of Dreams Adulterated, published by Broadstone Books in fall 2025. Her novels have been finalists in the Eric Hoffer and National Indie Excellence awards.
About Beyond Baroque
is one of the United States' leading independent Literary | Arts Centers and public spaces dedicated to expanding the public's knowledge of poetry, literature and art through cultural events and community interaction. Founded in 1968 as an experimental literary magazine, Beyond Baroque is based out of the original City Hall building in Venice, California. The Center offers a diverse variety of literary and arts programming including readings and workshops. The building also houses a bookstore with a large collection of new poetry books for sale.
Livestream: If you can’t join us in person the event will be livestreamed on at the scheduled time of the event. If you are tuning in this way, no ticket purchase is necessary.
If you are attending in person, ticket purchase is required. Tickets will be available at the Beyond Baroque bookstore on the day of the event, but we recommend registering in advance through Eventbrite. Masks are encouraged while inside our center. Please arrive early.
Event attendees are expected to behave in a respectful and considerate manner while in our space. Beyond Baroque reserves the right to remove individuals from our events, virtual or otherwise, if they are not respecting the space, staff, fellow attendees, or performers.
