Lūcija Garūta: The Silver Bird

Lecture recital exploring Latvian composer Lūcija Garūta’s opera, The Silver Bird. Written in 1938, this work has never been performed, with several premieres cancelled due to censorship on the work. Natalia Sawyer examines the opera and the curious history surrounding it, while also performing excerpts, bringing parts of the opera to the stage for the very first time.

• White permit parking lots are free of charge after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and during the weekend until 2 a.m.
• Gold permit parking lots are free of charge after 10 p.m. on weekdays and during the weekend until 2 a.m.
• At all other times, Pay & Display parking is available. The closest lot to the Faculty of Music is Lot 20, which is registered as Lot 3501 in the HonkMobile app. Payment can be made by credit card or cash at the machine, or through the HonkMobile app.
