Overview of the course:
The AR Krav Maga Self-defence Foundation Courses are perfect for absolute beginners who are looking to get into Krav Maga and learn Self-defence with other like-minded people. It is designed for beginners with no previous experience in Krav Maga or Martial Arts.
On the course, your Krav Maga instructor will teach you the fundamentals, theory and practice of Krav Maga Self-defence. They will teach you how to avoid, prevent, de-escalate, move, create space, escape and evade physical situations and if necessary how to defend yourself against several common attacks.
You will also learn key elements of UK law in relation to self-defence, making friends, getting fit and having fun too.
Our unique methods of instruction simulate the stress of a real attack without compromising your safety. The course will also help improve your fitness, coordination, and situational awareness, and reduce stress. You will also improve your overall sense of well-being and confidence and mental health for sure.
Even if you do not plan to pursue Krav Maga afterwards, the fundamental principles and techniques taught during this self-defence course will serve as useful tools in the future.
This course is for you if any of the following apply:
- You want to learn realistic and practical self-defence skills.
- You want to improve your confidence in everyday situations.
- Improve your fitness and make new friends.
- You have not done any Krav Maga Self-defence or Martial Arts training before, or if you have not much or it was a long time ago.
- You are about to travel overseas, go to Uni, you are a loan worker or you are just curious and want to know more.

Level 1: For complete beginners aged 17+
Duration: 8 weeks, one night a week on a Wednesday evening for 1 hour.

Is Krav Maga easy to learn and will it help me get fit?
Due to its simplicity and straightforward approach, Krav Maga can be learnt by anybody.
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to attend the workshop?
You must be over 17 years of age.
What can/can't I bring to the event?
You can bring loads of energy and enthusiasm and leave any egos at the door.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, but only for our next foundation course.
Can I update my registration information?

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes.
What is the refund policy?
Refunds are available up to 7-days before the course starts. After that, you will only receive 50% of your original fee or have the option to transfer to the next course. We want you training, not your money.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
No, the name on the ticket needs to match the name at registration, unless agreed with us prior.
Can I just turn up and watch?
No!
What should I wear?
We suggest you wear a comfortable tracksuit, leggings and a t-shirt, bring some water, a hand-towel and prepare yourself for a great time.
What about if I have to miss a night?
No problem. Although we can not repeat the night you have missed we will go over material each week so you will catch up plus you are very welcome to make up the time lost by joining our main mixed ability or women-only classes for free.
