🚩🚩🚩KR LONG RUN - SUNDAY 17 MAY 🚩🚩🚩Building on the fantastic success and enjoyment we've all had with the KR Long Runs over the last few months, we are back again this month with fresh courses for you all to take on! Join us on this Sunday, 17 May. 📅
We are now in the peak of training season for half and full marathons so it's a great time to join us. Not in race training? Then maybe you simply just want to do a long run along a scenic route (because why not!?) whilst having fun and a great chat along the way! Either way, it's a great way to build endurance and your kilometres in a supportive, friendly running community. 🏃♀️🏃♂️🚩
This month we have increased the distance on the 2 longer route options to allow people to build on their long run training as we get closer to race season. On offer will be 10km, 24km and 32km distance options led by myself (32k), Brian Gore (24k) and Trevor Builder (10k) with all runs beginning and ending at the usual KR meeting spot at the steps to the bridge. The courses will take in some scenic views and challenging hills along the way (great hill training). The 10k route will be our popular 10k long run through the beautiful Botanic Gardens. For the longer options this month we're heading east to the beaches! 🏄♂️ 🌊
The 24k option will be an exciting out and back run from Kirribilli to the scenic Coogee Beach ⛱️ and the 32k will be a thrilling journey to Maroubra Beach around the picturesque Malabar Headland National Park (if open) 📷 and back to Kirribilli. Thinking of doing the longer distances this month? Well these routes provide plenty of challenge and reward for your efforts and training. You can even decide between the two longer options as we head off given all share a common first 5km 💪👌
Pace options will depend on who attends for each distance but generally will be between 5.30 and 6 min pace so all are welcome no matter your fitness level. We will stop for a few photos along the way and water and toilets as well. 💧 📸
Meet at 7.15am for a prompt 7.30am departure. Bring a friend, a smile, your KR/ red shirt, water bottle/ pack, comfy shoes, snacks, gels and sun protection. No bag drop service will be available due to different finishing times and parking restrictions. 🚫
Course maps will be posted on the event page for each distance option shortly for strava and Garmin so keep your eye out. 👀
All are welcome, it will be a great day out, with good times and good humour guaranteed! 😅 we've been having some epic turn outs to the long runs and it's great to see both familiar friendly faces as well as new people joining KR events or just challenging themselves with a longer run. 👍
Please register your interest on the Facebook event page so we have an idea of numbers for the day.🏃♀️ 🏃♂️🚩🚩🚩
Hope to see @everyone there!
