Join KPBS for a special screening featuring excerpts from the Indie Lens film, The Inquisitor, followed by a panel discussion led by KPBS’ host of Midday Edition Jade Hindmon with local educators and experts. Complimentary light refreshments will close out the evening.
The Inquisitor explores the life and legacy of Barbara Jordan. Jordan was a groundbreaking Texas congresswoman whose sharp intellect and moral clarity transformed U.S. politics. From Nixon’s impeachment to civil rights battles, her voice demanded accountability, while she privately faced struggles few ever knew of.
This film addresses the topics of race, gender, sexuality, disability and political tensions. There will be opportunities for audience members to engage in the conversation, ask questions, and share insights. The full film can also be streamed on KPBS+.
This event is free and will take place in the SDSU Student Union Theatre at the Conrad Prebys Aztec Student Union. Space is limited and registration is required.
