Kontras String Quartet | Millicent Kennedy

Let's ring in the new year with the Kontras String Quartet! Their attention to detail, high energy, and creative programming brought down the house in their past Rendezvous performances—and we know you’ll be glad you braved the cold weather to experience them again this year! Eleanor Bartsch and Francois Henkins on violin, Ben Weber on viola, and Jean Hatmaker on cello will bring a new and exciting program for you to enjoy!

Adding to the artistic celebration, found object artist Millicent Kennedy will showcase their interdisciplinary masterpieces.  Kennedy’s art practice responds to found objects, chosen places, and the history embedded in the material. They make art out of abandoned tools, fabrics, and other pieces that one might think were no longer of value into captivating artworks, breathing new life into these materials and sharing their hidden histories with the public and new generations. Their art is a testament to the beauty and stories that lie within the overlooked and forgotten.
