About this Event
Knowing the Ages & Stages of Child Development is essential introductory training to child development for new and existing childminders. The course will look in-depth at Development Matters and how to use it in your everyday practice to assess children's learning and development.
- Explore the use of 'starting points' to assess children's baseline assessment
- Know the expected milestones for children's development
- How to use Development Matters as a resource to support you in your daily observation, assessment and planning
- Know how to identify children who may be at risk of developmental delay
- How DM relates to summative assessments such as the 2 Year Old Progress Check
- How to engage parents to support their child's learning & development
On successful completion of this workshop, learners will be awarded a certificate which counts as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) evidence.
Ofsted registered childminders are welcome to join our training.
Terms & Conditions
- A standard course is 3 hour course 10am – 1pm on Saturdays excluding Safeguarding Refresher courses
- Safeguarding training is available from January 2018
- We do not deliver training during the busy holiday months: December, Easter school holidays and July/August
- Our training is offered on a first come, first served basis only
- The cancellation notice period is 10 working days for a full refund. This notice period is not applicable to bundle offers.
