44.4 Mother/Artist Collective's 2nd C, Converse: Knots and Thoughts, Embroidery as Resistance: A hands-on workshop for stitching text onto fabric.
Come learn about textile art, artists, and how to embroider using some basic stitches (no previous sewing ability required!)
Connection: at the OAG InReach Sunday, May 31st 3-5 pm
Conversation: about textile art, embroidery and subtle acts of resistance
Creation: embroidery kit provided
You’ll need to bring an article of clothing like a t-shirt, sweatshirt, tea towel and all the outrage you want to channel!
***While official childcare is no longer provided, children are welcome and free! The daughters of 44.4 members will be present to help distract your child with an activity but is not considered official childcare. When registering on Eventbrite, please add a “children's ticket” along with yours.****
All proceeds from the workshop will be donated to the 44.4 Artist/Mother Collective to purchase supplies and support upcoming community and exhibition projects.

The 44.4 Mother/Artist Collective is a group of women artists working on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation, otherwise known as Ottawa, Canada. Positioned at the intersection of motherhood and art, our collective shares knowledge, supports creative self-actualisation, and empowers professional advancement. Together, we encourage dynamic conversations through art while focusing on the importance of community-building. This special partnership with the OAG presents a series of interactive meetups about art through the lens of motherhood.
