About this Event
Kitchen Stories: Recipes of Belonging is a participatory installation and series of drop-in sessions where food becomes the gateway to memory, storytelling, and connection. Residents of Newham are invited to sit at the table, enjoy a warm drink, and share a favourite recipe alongside the story or memory that makes it meaningful.
Specially designed recipe cards make it easy for everyone to contribute at any time. But during the live sessions, conversations go further: guided prompts and open dialogue unlock deeper narratives about migration, identity, belonging, and the ways food shapes our lives in the UK.
Each contribution becomes part of a growing living archive, weaving together the diverse flavours and voices of the borough. Kitchen Stories offers a collective reflection on how food connects us, grounds us, and tells the story of who we are.
This is a drop-in session, so no booking is required.
