About this Event

The UDC College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability, and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) offers this in-person introductory course to equip food service vendors with the essential tools to operate commercial kitchen equipment. This certificate course explores the competencies every foodservice professional should possess: proper management and maintenance of a food service business and its equipment.

Who Should Attend: This training is designed exclusively for individuals who intend to operate within a UDC commercial kitchen facility, including vendors and UDC partners involved with farmers markets and/or commercial kitchen operations.

When: Thursday, April 23, 2026 | 10 A.M. - 3 P.M.

Cost: $10.00

Payment Options:

  • By Mail in advance: UDC Cashier’s Office, c/o CAUSES, 4200 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008

Please mail the money order and payment form provided by the instructor. Add the Course Name and Detail Code: P083 to the form.

  • At the Cashier’s Office in advance: Building 39, 2nd floor, Room 201, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please take the payment form provided by the instructor with you. Add the Course Name and Detail Code: P083 to the form.

Payments must be received on or by the first day of the training.

Credential Earned: This is a non-credit-bearing course. A certificate will be issued to participants who complete the training session.

Course Instructor: Dr. Carlton Crockett, Senior Program Coordinator Food Systems, Center for Nutrition, Diet and Health.
