About this Event
Join us for the 2026 Student Showcase, a high-energy celebration of the brilliance, creativity, and leadership of our Kings. Formerly a signature day of our annual Spring Symposium, this year’s Showcase stands on its own to give our students the center stage they deserve.
At Kingmakers of Oakland, we believe that Black boys are not "broken"—the system is. The Student Showcase is where we flip the narrative. Come witness the "Collective Genius" of young Black men from across the country as they present projects that bridge culture, identity, and innovation.
What to Expect
- Student Presentations: See firsthand the work emerging from our Crowns Curriculum and TFI Oakland college-access programs.
- Creative Exhibitions: Experience the latest from KOOLabs, featuring student-produced short films, original music/beats, fashion designs, and digital media.
- Youth-Led Solutions: Hear our Kings share their insights on education transformation and community impact.
- Community & Connection: Network with educators, families, and community leaders committed to building a thriving ecosystem for Black boys.
"We are educators, artists, and dreamers building systems that love our kids back."
Why Attend?
The Student Showcase is more than a presentation; it is a demonstration of transformation. Whether you are an educator looking for culturally responsive strategies, a community member wanting to support local youth, or a family member cheering on a King, this event will leave you re-energized and inspired.
