The First Annual King of the Cassel Skateboarding Contest is here! On Saturday, April 25, this FREE Skateboard competition, hosted by the City of Casselberry in partnership with J Productions will give skaters the opportunity to compete at the new state of the art Casselberry Wheel Park West. The first contest in the King of the Cassel series will feature the Advanced Bowl for competitors to showcase their skills. Registration for this contest is limited, so reserve your spot today!
Three divisions to register (only one division per competitor). 15 & Under; 16 & over; and Open / Sponsored AM
Pre-Registration will open on Friday, March 6 at Noon. Registration is limited to 25 contestants per division. We will have a wait list and will call registrants the week before the event to confirm if they are still committed. If not, we will add off of the wait list into the competition. We may have flexibility to go beyond the 25 contestants per division, but we will make that call as we get closer. Check-in begins at 8am with the first division beginning its jam contest at 10 a.m. and will approximately end by 5 p.m.
A 3-judge scoring system will be used.
• Each judge will score on a scale from 1 to 10, with half-point increments allowed.
• Each skater will receive three (3) runs.
• Skaters will skate until they either fall or complete their run.
• Skaters will compete in an order determined by event organizers.
• All three judges' scores will be added together and averaged to determine the final score.
• Depending on the number of skaters, divisions may be separated into multiple groups.
• Scoring criteria include: use of the entire bowl, style, and trick selection.
Finals
• The top five (5) skaters in each division will advance to the Finals.
• Finals will consist of another jam session scored by three judges.
• If a division is split into multiple groups, the top three (3) skaters from each group will advance to the Finals.
Trophies will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for each division and prizes will be available for participants to win.
