About this Event

Join us for the launch of Toronto’s 2nd Annual Black Maternal Health Week with an inspiring Opening Ceremony grounded in this year’s theme: From Awareness to Accountability — The Role of Families, Allies, and Systems in Black Maternal Health.

Join community leaders, birth workers, families, and allies as we open a powerful week dedicated to truth‑telling, celebration, and collective action. Expect moving speakers, cultural expressions, and a first look at the events happening across April 11–17. Together, we’ll honour Black birthing people and call in the partners and systems needed to advance safe, equitable, and affirming maternal care.

Start the week with intention. The movement begins here.
