An evocative cultural morning titled “Keno E HingshaDwesh” (Why this rancor, this fury?) is set to unfold through the songs and poetry of Rabindranath Tagore. The program will feature distinguished Rabindra Sangeet exponent Smt. Srabani Sen, along with eminent elocutionists Shri Subha Prasad Nandi Majumdar and Shri Sumantra Sengupta. In times marked by deep social unrest, growing intolerance, and widening divides, Tagore’s words continue to guide us toward truth, compassion, and inner freedom. As we stand amid a profound cultural and moral crisis, the need to uphold and continue a meaningful cultural resistance becomes even more urgent. In seeking strength and clarity, we turn once again to Tagore, whose vision remains enduringly relevant. With this spirit, Prachyo New Alipore presents this initiative on the 12th of April at Academy, in collaboration with Sankhamala (Belgharia). The goal is to create a thoughtful and culturally vibrant environment that uses Tagore’s ideas to quietly but firmly stand against the growing threat of fascism and to highlight the importance of art in raising awareness and bringing people together.
